Advanced ENT and Allergy is Hiring a Dispensing Audiologist Near Albany, IN

Advanced ENT & Allergy, a long standing member of the Louisville and Southern Indiana healthcare community, is seeking to add experienced and knowledgeable Audiologists to their Team. As a growing mid-size practice, our company is large enough to have solid processes in place, but still maintain the small-office feel. A recent partnership with Southern Ear, Nose, Throat and Allergy (SENTA) physicians, a leading community of physician-led and patient focused practices, has brought additional growth opportunities to our team. Advanced ENT & Allergy is a busy practice providing a full spectrum of ENT care as well as a full complement of head and neck surgery. Our 12 Otolaryngologists utilize the latest technology, research and patient care techniques to create a top tier patient experience. Our professional and patient-focused Audiology team collaborates with our Physicians to plan and provide treatment for patients in an out-patient setting. Opportunities are available in both Louisville, KY and Southern IN.

Audiology Responsibilities

  • Performs and interprets pure tone air/bone and speech testing, tympanometry, acoustic reflex and reflex decay tests, VRA(visual reinforcement audiometry) tests and other special diagnostic tests, such as electronystagmography (VNGs), auditory brainstem response testing (ABRs), and otoacoustic emissions testing (OAEs)
  • Performs balance assessment including VNG evaluations, performing Hallpikes, and all forms of canalith repositioning and follow-up care
  • Performs fitting and adjustment of earplugs for noise protection, water protection, etc.

Hearing Aid Responsibilities

  • Performs hearing aid evaluations, hearing aid fittings, orders and deliveries, and sound field hearing aid checks
  • Handles hearing aid repairs, both “in-house” and factory repairs, for all types and makes of hearing aids

Other Responsibilities

  • Discusses results and recommendations with patients concerning audiology and hearing aids
  • Enters progress notes in the patient’s electronic medical record
  • Performs special projects, presentations, or duties as assigned
  • Participates in marketing and public relations for Advanced ENT and Allergy including but not limited to health fairs, advertising, and other promotional activities
  • Implements the Center’s policies concerning patients’ rights
  • Implements all policies and guidelines for the ethical practice of audiology and hearing aid dispensing as outlines by the American Speech-Language-hearing Association, the states of Kentucky and Indiana and Advanced ENT & Allergy.
  • Coverage of office locations when assigned
  • Communicate problems with patients, Physicians or other personnel to the Clinical Manager
  • Maintains a safe work environment by implementing all safety policies of the center in all locations
  • Maintains the confidentiality, security, and physical safety of all patients and patient information
  • Willingly assist others in department when available
  • Volunteer for special projects or committees

Clerical Duties

  • Enters progress notes in the patient’s electronic medical records
  • Orders hearing aids and sends out repaired aids
  • Corresponds with hearing aid manufacturer if there are any problems
  • Corresponds with referring physicians, agencies and with patients as required, through written reports and/or telephone or email
  • Completes Medicaid Prior Authorization Requests for hearing aids
  • Cooperates with Advanced ENT & Allergy’s insurance department by supplying all information needed
  • Writes predetermination letters for hearing aids if needed
  • Fills out purchase order for hearing aids, equipment and supplies required and giving to the Audiology Supervisor for approval

Experience:

AuD or Master of Audiology degree from an accredited institution

CCC-A (Certification of Clinical Competence in Audiology with ASHA)

Licensure in Audiology in the state of Kentucky and Indiana or eligibility for such licensure to be secured within the first year of employment by this practice State license in Audiology (renewed bi-annually)

Hearing Aid Dispensing License (for Audiologists who see hearing aid patients)
