Position Summary:
The Medical Receptionist is responsible for providing administrative support to our healthcare team and ensuring a positive and efficient experience for our patients. The ideal candidate will be friendly, organized, team player, positive, energetic, intelligent, dependable, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced medical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the practice’s calendar.
- Verify insurance information and obtain necessary patient data.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls as needed.
- Check-in and check-out patients, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.
- Process payments and handle billing inquiries.
- Maintain patient records, ensuring they are accurate and up-to-date.
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations.
- Ensure the front office area is clean, organized, and welcoming.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical office or customer service role is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, EHR/EMR systems).
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is a plus.
- Bilingual is a plus
