Artificial Intelligence Architect

THE ROLE:

We're looking for a highly motivated candidate with an interdisciplinary background, like computer science or electrical engineering, combined with mathematics or data science. As part of our team, you'll be responsible for analyzing AI models and explore different ways to run them more efficiently on our NPUs. This includes a very broad range of options, from enhancing the AI model itself, to optimizing its implementation in the software stack, runtime or kernels to for example mapping/tiling methods and changing datatypes. The ideal candidate should also possess good communication skills to collaborate with various teams. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Explore ways to improve the efficiency of AI models running on NPUs
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends in the AI field
  • Collaborate closely with other architects, software, kernel and compiler teams as well as data scientist.
  • Develop, test and debug appropriate models (e.g. in Python) or kernels (e.g. in C ) to analyze and validate architecture ideas

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Computer science or electrical engineering background, ideally combined with mathematics
  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) concepts and techniques, including deep learning, reinforcement learning, natural language processing, generative AI, and computer vision, as well as practical experience applying these concepts to solve real-world problems through research or work experience
  • Expertise on AI model architecture, like transformers.
  • Some experience in ML frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX or TensorFlow.
  • Experience in developing and debugging in Python or C
  • Inquiring mind, excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills to articulate findings to both engineering and leadership.
  • Collaborative and strong team player

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • A PhD degree or equivalent in mathematics, machine learning, computer science, electrical engineering or a related field.
