Advanced Personnel Resources is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist for a new opening with our client in Whitsett. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will provide support to the accounting department while also keeping a customer service focus in mind. A successful candidate will have a manufacturing industry background and excellent technology skills.

Job Duties

• Data entry of customer payments, returns, and credits, as well as manual invoices and supplier invoices
• Issuing customer statements per schedule
• Customer vetting
• Provide customer invoices and follow up on supplier payment status
• Perform collections activities as directed by Accounting Manager including collection calls
• Issue aging reports showing customer account balances
• Investigate discrepancies and assist with resolution
• Maintain records of exemption certificates for Accounts Receivable accounts in database and obtain updated certificates from customers as needed to comply with state law
• Complete timely month end closing duties, including preparation and input of journal entries
• Maintain schedule and validate closing values within ERP system for accounts where assigned
• Assist outside auditors in preparation of schedules, explanation of supporting materials and procedures, as requested
• Perform work on special projects or other related functions as requested

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required, 2-year Finance or Accounting degree preferred
• Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Microsoft Office experience with strong Excel and ERP system skills
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret common accounting journals and financial reports
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to successfully collaborate with diverse individuals at various levels both within and outside the company
