Accounts Receivable Analyst
Position Summary
The Accounts Receivable Analyst will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable processes for our small pharmaceutical company, ensuring timely and accurate deduction resolution, cash application, and maintaining customer accounts. The role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail to support our financial operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Resolve deductions and discrepancies in a timely manner to ensure accurate customer account balances.
- Apply cash receipts daily and reconcile discrepancies between payments received and invoices billed.
- Monitor and manage aging of accounts receivable balances, escalating issues as necessary.
- Prepare and distribute customer statements and invoices accurately and on schedule.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Sales, Customer Service, and Finance to investigate and resolve payment issues.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to accounts receivable transactions and activities.
- Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.
- Generate reports and provide analysis related to accounts receivable performance as required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable or related financial role, preferably in pharmaceutical manufacturing or a related industry.
- Proficiency in SAP (or similar ERP system) for accounts receivable functions.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and vlookup functions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across different departments.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, especially related to accounts receivable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with pharmaceutical industry-specific billing and invoicing processes.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry regulations related to accounts receivable.
- Certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus but not required.
