Position Summary: The Technical Engineering Leader is responsible for leading a highly trained team of engineers and driving continuous improvements in processes and production. Duties and Responsibilities:Lead a team of 2-5 technical engineers to identify and implement longer term process improvement efforts, with the overall goal being to achieve improved safety, higher yields, productivity, better production rates, and higher attainment.Manage/Support OSHA-PSM elements including management of change, pre-startup safety review, standard operating procedures, incident investigation, and process hazards analysisBecome an expert on the process chemistry, operating philosophy, and the process design basis for the equipment within the areas of responsibility.Identify and implement improvements on basic control schemes and advanced process control strategies.Assist in development of strategic activities for assigned areas such as STRAP roadmaps, AOP, capital strap, Innovation, and new products.Interface with Supply Chain, Logistics, Quality, Operations, and Maintenance to ensure continuous improvement and seamless delivery of customer needs.Mentor and Coach junior engineers Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineeringSix Sigma and/or Lean certification preferred5 years of experience in production, process and/or manufacturing engineering within the chemical, petroleum, or polymer industrial manufacturing environments1-3 years of experience in engineering or manufacturing leadership or equivalent preferred Additional Qualifications:Proven history of delivering productivity through non-capital improvements and capital projects of all sizesDeep experience in the fundamentals of production optimization and process design for a broad range of unit operations including reaction, distillation, refrigeration, and fired heaters, heat integrationStrong process and mechanical troubleshooting experience
