Offset Press Operator
Role Summary
Our client is searching for an Offset Press Operator to join the team. As a Press Operator, you will be tasked with setting up and ensuring high-quality output on the offset press.
Key Responsibilities
Change press plates, blankets, and cylinders as needed
Notifies Team Lead of quality issues
Runs machine at optimal speed to meet production standards
Performs adjustments on the machine to ensure maximum productivity
Communicates job status and production concerns / issues during shift transition to ensure optimal productivity for the following shift
Cleans ink fountains, plates, and changes units as needed
Performs regular quality checks on all components to ensure quality standards are met
Recalibrates equipment as required
Works with the Team Lead to resolve concerns.
Ensures safety practices are followed
Accurately tracks job counts, make-readies, and waste as instructed
Ability to spot defects in the print and correct essential functions of the job
Sets up the machine and maintains quality throughout the run per individual job
Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Skills and Requirements
High school diploma or GED is required for this role
Prior offset printing background as pressman preferred
Ability to monitor production equipment for speed and quality
Capable of reading and interpreting job instructions
Knowledge of mechanical operations and production processes
Able to work with both computers and mechanical systems
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, including moving up to 10 pounds regularly and lifting up to 45 pounds intermittently
