The role you’ll contribute:

Under the direction of the Vice President, the Special Projects Coordinator executes special projects in the Support Services departments. The Coordinator organizes, manages, and conducts research while working on special projects that further the strategic initiatives of the department(s). Works closely with the Director of Control Systems to facilitate the department’s tracking system and DNV preparedness. Coordinates with the Support Services Directors on assigned projects including SOP’s, policies and procedures and long-range plans relating trash reduction, segregation of waste and linen utilization.

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
  • Two years of project management experience
  • Previous policy and procedure technical writing experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Highly skilled in task management
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software
  • Excellent ability to manage multiple, diverse and often detailed tasks and/or projects ensuring appropriate priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three years of project management experience in a healthcare setting

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Prepares, manages and executes special projects in Support Services departments. Reviews contracted services, prepares Request for Proposals (RFP’s) for vendors and/or consultants, tracking submittals, and assisting as needed. Works on special projects such as water management, trash segregation, linen utilization and prepares and delivers training to affected departments.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations to the Facilities Directors Meeting and the Physical Environment Committee when requested.
  • Coordinates with Support Services Directors on special projects to achieve the strategic initiatives of the department, including goals and objectives, policies and procedures, and long-range plans.
  • Prepares monthly summaries on all special projects, such as trash reduction, waste segregation, and linen utilization, to review volumes and performance as well as other data requested. Discusses roadblocks to meet budget, other expectations, and works to find and implement solutions.
  • Works closely with the Control Systems Director and the department’s tracking form to facilitate DNV readiness and other duties as requested.
  • Works with the Support Services Directors on development, submittal and approval of Standard Operating Procedures and Policies & Procedures.
  • Schedules and attends meetings related to assigned projects, maintains monthly dashboards, and other matrix driven data as requested.
