LOCATION SUMMARY:

Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. POSITION SUMMARY:

provides for the planning, coordination, and provision of nursing care to patients in the Pediatric Unit on specified shifts. This position is responsible for care planning, medication administration, noting of physiological changes, and psychosocial needs of pediatric patients as well as the education/training of the patient and their family. Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to ancillary personnel commensurate with their scope of practice and will be cross trained and float to NICU.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and work accurately in a fast-paced environment. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Must be fluent in spoken and written English. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Education and Work Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent: Required
• BA or BS degree: Required
• Previous pediatric experience: Preferred
• Previous experience with newborns requiring step-down care: Preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association: Required
• PALS through the American Heart Association: Required
• NRP: Required
• Current State of California RN license: Required
