A wealth management company specializing in asset management, tax strategies, and investment services in Central NJ is in search of a Senior Accountant to work directly with the Head of Accounting and a lean team in supporting the day-to-day accounting and financial operations for their client portfolio. This role has an emphasis on corporate and operational accounting for the business entities of the clients they service along with crossover exposure to tax compliance and related year-end reporting.

They are seeking a bright and eager accountant with a foundation in public accounting who would be excited about playing a key role in the continued development of their client portfolio.

Location: Middlesex, NJ – Full-time in office

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly close process for client’s business entities, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and reviewing results for variance analysis work.
• Review client’s general ledgers and financial statements, providing commentary on any necessary adjustments or corrections.
• Assist in the preparation of tax forms 1065 and 1120 along with the supporting write-ups and schedules for the associated business entities
• Generate workpapers and year-end schedules in preparation of clients’ annual audits
• Coordinate with various business functions to make sure projects and plans are
• aligned and are working in-sync across their business.
• Support clients with the adoption of new processes, policies, systems, and tools to
• improve effectiveness and efficiency.
• Assist in the onboarding of new clients, providing clients with consultation around accounting best practices and priorities

Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
• 1-3 years of experience in a CPA firm with exposure to a diverse client portfolio
• Fundamental knowledge of both accounting and tax concepts as they relate to corporate business entities
• Well-organized with the ability to prioritize across multiple simultaneous projects
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Salary: $75,000-95,000 plus discretionary bonus
