Advocare is Hiring a Medical Biller Near Fair Lawn, NJ

Responsible for managing the administrative responsibilities of billing insurance and processing payments for patients.
Advocare, LLC is a partnership of the top doctors in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including pediatricians, family practice and specialist. As part of the team, you’ll work side-by-side with forward-thinking professionals who strive to provide the highest quality medical care by meeting and exceeding standards for clinical outcomes while delivering exceptional patient service in an evolving healthcare environment.
A small pediatric group practice within the Advocare Network is in need of an immediate short-term, full time Medical Biller for the summer months. Following the summer, position may lead to a part-time, flexible permanent position.
Essential Functions:
Posts daily office visit and surgery charges
Charge corrections and adjustments when necessary
Work accounts receivable and denial reports
Analyze patient accounts for balances owed and credit balances
Coordinate collection of outstanding monies not received during patient visits
Communicate regularly with Practice Administrator regarding the status of authorizations and denials
Other duties related to the position as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, patients, and the public.
Knowledge of how to use office equipment including phone, computer, copy machine
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Surgical billing and coding experience required
Experience as a biller in a physician practice setting preferred
Proficient in an EMR preferred; experience with eClinicalWorks a strong plus
