Advocate Aurora is Hiring a Coord Office FCN Near Lawn, IL

Major Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate billing.
    • 1)Verify new or changing insurance information.
    • 2)Accurate posting of charges and payments daily into patient accounts.
    • 3)Generate and review for accuracy claims submitted daily, re-submission and follow-up of claims within the guidelines established by the department.
    • 4)Print and review monthly statements of individual accounts. Indicate on statement the amount due by patient at that time.
    • 5)Investigate and resolve day-to-day problems.
    • 6)Follow-up on a routine basis with third part payors and responsible individuals to assure timely collection for services rendered. Includes phone calls, letters, etc.
    • 7)Enter accurate corrections into billing system with regards to coding, charges, and demographic information.
    • 8)Identify accounts requiring refunds and initiate documented recommendation.
    • 9)Balance daily audit trail
    • 10)Compile and maintain clear, accurate, written documentation of all activity relating to billing or collection efforts for each account.
  • Obtaining and processing required documentation for billing.
    • 2)Request pre-authorization of services when necessary.
    • 3)Assemble new patient file according to AFCN standards
    • 1)Receive new patient Intake, Insurance and Treatment Agreement forms. Review for signatures and completeness of forms.
    • 5)Verify insurance benefits by contacting insurance company, managed care company or union
    • 4)Data enter patient and insurance information into billing program assigning appropriate Financial Class for the purpose of tracking the Accounts Receivables
    • 6)Written notification to the patient and verbal and written notification to the therapist of expected financial responsibility of the insurance carrier and patient.
  • Coordination of business office activities: scheduling for answering telephones, ordering office supplies, completion of time cards, provider credentialing of clinical staff, active participation in internship application and interview process, oversees IDCFS contracts, and executes accounts payable (AP) requests
  • Keep Current About The Billing Field
    • 4)Assist with special projects as defined by the Vice President of Ambulatory Behavioral Health and Clinical Director.
    • 1)Advise Vice President of Ambulatory Behavioral Health and Clinical Director of documented changes in payor guidelines.
    • 2)Keep abreast of new and changing guidelines within the insurance managed care, IDCFS, and private agency contracts.
    • 3)Continued education of product line and billing guidelines.
Education/Experience Required:
  • High School Diploma 3 yrs. physician billing or accounts receivable experience. Working knowledge of third party billing regulations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • Good communication and organizational skills. Ability to analyze and problem solve independently. Orientation to detail and accuracy. Typing 35 WPM, preferred. ? Ability to use 10-key calculator ? 1 year experience with personal computers. Good writing skills. Strong interpersonal skills.

Physicial Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Ability to work overtime, when necessary. Ability to maintain composure under stressful conditions. Fast paced environment with heavy phone contact.
  • If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
