Discover your #H2Opportunity **Job Description** **Job Description** **AECOM** is seeking a highly motivated water resources engineer to support mine tailings storage facility and heavy civil infrastructure design and analysis as part of the Mining group in Denver Colorado. **Job Summary/Responsibilities** Performs specific portions of broader projects under the supervision of an experienced engineer Work with existing and potential clients to provide long-term stormwater management solutions for mine waste facilities Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and drainage/civil design Prepare detailed calculation packages including proper documentation and references Assist with the development of civil reports, drawings and specifications Prepare reservoir and pond designs including geosynthetic lining, leak detection/collection systems, breach analysis, outlet works, and spillways Design channels and energy dissipation structures that include concrete, riprap, articulated concrete block, fabric-formed concrete, and baffle blocks for erosion control Coordinate with OSE, EPA, and other agencies for permit preparation Work with CAD designers to produce construction-level drawings including grading, drainage and roadway plans, profiles, details, and sections Perform work in accordance with agreed upon scope, budget, and schedule Generally, perform work in Denver office minimum 3 days a week **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements** BA/BS 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. EIT Certification Valid U.S. Driver’s License **Preferred Qualifications** MS Civil Engineering with Hydrology/Hydraulics emphasis 4 years or more of relevant experience MSHA Miner training Basic knowledge of industry software programs (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and AutoCAD Civil 3D) Field/Construction experience; tailings or dams experience a plus Experience in stormwater evaluation and design (e.g., hydrologic analysis, hydraulic analysis, stormwater management design), construction monitoring and operations Experience with frequency storm and probable maximum precipitation hydrologic analyses Experience with hydraulic analyses and design of channels, culverts, bridges, flow measurement, and flood mapping Familiarity with design reports, drawings and specifications Excellent Verbal and written communication skills Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment Exhibit initiative, responsibility and flexibility Resourceful, highly organized, professional and detail oriented Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines Effective time-management and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment **Additional Information** Relocation is not available for this position.
