Join us. **Job Description** **AECOM** is actively seeking a Rail Transit Engineer to be based in Los Angeles, California, for West Coast Rail Transit group. The Rail Transit group is a thriving group with an impressive portfolio of ongoing projects with Los Angeles Metro, BART, Sound Transit, and a pipeline of projects shaping the future of our cities. Join us as we grow our team in Los Angeles and make a lasting impact on the region's infrastructure. **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:** Provide CADD and design support on a diverse set of transit projects including Light Rail Transit (LRT), Commuter Rail, and Transit/Maintenance Facilities and civil engineering projects. Performs CADD design and engineering activities to support the planning, design, and construction support for transit rail, roadway drainage, utility, and traffic-related tasks. Prepares engineering calculations, drawings, exhibits, 3D models, reports, and cost estimates. Obtains or reviews existing information including some field work/site investigations. Works on routine engineering assignments, and application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assists with roadway and track designs, transportation planning studies, preliminary design studies, and final design of linear transit infrastructure projects. Works under the supervision of junior and senior engineers designed to develop engineering knowledge and abilities. Works under the US West Region Transit/Rail Engineering Group which works collaboratively across the region and United States supporting major transit agencies. Prepares exhibits for presentations. Communicates effectively and works collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment. Limited support to agency stakeholder and public engagement efforts **Qualifications** **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** BA/BS 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education **PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:** Able to work out of our Los Angeles, California office. Ability to obtain EIT Certification within one year. Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other civil engineering-related software (Civil 3D, OpenRoads). Optional knowledge of Revit design software. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong technical writing, verbal, graphical, and organizational skills An ardent desire to learn and grow professionally. **Additional Information** **ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:** Travel may be required for this position.
