**Job Description**

**AECOM** is seeking a Structures Design Manager for its East Region Transportation Business Line. The East Region encompasses the Northeast (ME, NH, VT, MA, CT, RI), New York, Mid-Atlantic (PA, NJ, MD, VA, WV) and Southeast (NC, SC, TN, AL, GA, FL) sub-regions.

The ideal candidate will act as a Structures Design Lead for pursuits and projects using alternative delivery methods such as Progressive Design-Build, Design-Build, Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC), or methods with early contractor involvement. The individual will have overall responsibility for all structural aspects of these projects and inter-discipline coordination of all technical issues with other discipline leads including Architectural, Highway, Environmental, Traffic, Public Involvement, etc. from initial design through technical support during the construction phase.

**The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to the following:**

Coordinate all structural engineering technical aspects of pursuits and projects with other disciplines and in support of the Project/Design Manager.

Interface with contractor clients through progression of the design deliverables.

Ensure the structural design is completed in accordance with the contract guidelines and design documents.

Establish structural scope, work plan and work schedule in support of the Project/Design Manager.

Comply with companys safety awareness program and policies.

Manage groups of engineers, designers and/or specialists towards development of structural design documents and contract deliverables with minimal guidance or supervision.

Assure conformance with contractual obligations by ensuring that design documents are reviewed and approved prior to release to the client.

Train, mentor and develop staff and support career growth opportunities for staff.

Support marketing coordination and proposal preparation. Participate in proposal interviews.

Ensure that QA/QC procedures are being implemented and ensure the technical quality of deliverables. Lead responses to clients comments on structural design elements of the deliverables.

Anticipate potential budget and schedule impacts and initiate plans for alternative actions.

Incorporate innovation in design and delivery.

**Qualifications**

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar field 10 years of relevant design experience in bridge engineering, design and analysis or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Professional Engineer (PE) license and be willing to obtain reciprocity in the jurisdiction of the projects.

Valid Driver's License and as a condition of employment, pass AECOM's motor vehicle records review.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ten (10) or more years of experience as engineer of record or structural discipline lead.

Twenty (20) years of related design experience.

Experience with alternative delivery methods or projects with early contractor involvement.

Recent Design-Build experience serving as Design Manager or Structural Discipline Lead Engineer.

Established contractor client relationships.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $150,000.00 - $195,000.00.
