Join us. **Job Description** AECOM is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer for our Transportation Business Line based in Arlington, VA. This is a wonderful opportunity to work on a variety of exciting, highly-visible design/build projects as well as regional design/build projects. The ideal candidate’s responsibilities will include leading structural design efforts for pursuits and projects. This individual will support all structural aspects of these projects from initial design through technical support during the construction phase. The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to the following: Coordinate structural engineering technical aspects of pursuits and projects with other disciplines. Interface with contractor clients through progression of the design deliverables. Ensure the structural design is completed in accordance with the contract guidelines and design documents. Comply with company’s safety awareness program and policies. Assure conformance with contractual obligations by ensuring that design documents are reviewed and approved prior to release to the client. Train, mentor and develop lower-level staff. Ensure that QA/QC procedures are being implemented and ensure the technical quality of deliverables. Lead responses to client’s comments on structural design elements of the deliverables. Incorporate innovation in design and delivery. Serve as technical advisor for team and provide specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise. Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others. Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables. Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings. Prepares technical specification sections. Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements. **Qualifications** Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar field 4 years of relevant design experience in bridge engineering, design and analysis or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Professional Engineer (PE) license and be willing to obtain reciprocity in the jurisdiction of the projects Valid Driver's License and as a condition of employment, pass AECOM's motor vehicle records review Preferred Qualifications: MS Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar field Experience with alternative delivery methods or projects with early contractor involvement with recent design-build experience Experience with task management and project management Experience interfacing with clients and stakeholders Experience working with DOTs and other owners **Additional Information** Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position. Relocation assistance may be available for this opportunity. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
