The Golf Tournament Coordinator is responsible for the strategic planning, logistics, operations, and coordination of IMG Academy's Golf Tournaments.This individual will be the external face of IMG Academy at Tournaments and should be knowledgeable on all aspects of the Academy, Golf Program and Tournaments.
Position Responsibilities
  • Help achieve program goals by successfully planning, organizing and executing IMG Academy's Tournament schedule
  • Responsible for scheduling, registration, travel arrangements and other logistical requirements associated with students and coaches participating in tournaments.
  • Manage transportation plan for transport of equipment and supplies to tournament locations
  • Procure all necessary supplies and equipment for travel
  • Select host hotels and negotiate group room block agreements for all travel
  • Updating and maintaining student's online resumes, tournament results and the Academy Wall of Champions
  • Demonstrate selling skills and product knowledge in all areas of the Academy and sport program
  • Educate tournament officials, guests, players, etc about IMG Academy and its sport programs
  • Proactively seek opportunities for business development designed to increase golf program enrollment
  • Establish and manage ongoing strategic relationships with golf industry stakeholders including state & regional golf associations, PGA Sections, junior golf associations, etc
  • Update and maintain tournament file with appropriate information after event
  • Assist students and coaching staff with delivery of program and coaching sessions
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
  • Bachelor's degree in business, sports management or related field (or a minimum of 4 years' equivalent experience)
  • Ability to lead decisively with commitment to principles
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced organization
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint & OneNote)
  • A superior work ethic
  • Positive outlook and pleasant demeanor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate, build relationships, and communicate positively and professionally with all internal and external constituents

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Ability to travel nights and weekends
  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40 lbs.
  • Ability to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.
  • Ability to move around campus including gym, turf, fields, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays.
