Aegis Worldwide is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor. This individual will be responsible for managing the Chemical and Physical Laboratories and assuring all testing on metals.
Responsibilities:

• Supervises the operations of the laboratories
• Supervises the lab techs
• Reviews production orders against customer requirement and assigns and plans required tests.
• Performs production testing as required to cover for absences or workload surges.
• Ensures test equipment and written procedures are compliant with industry and customer standards.
• Responsible for ensuring calibration and general upkeep of equipment and maintaining inventory of consumables
• Coordinates contracted outside laboratory testing.
• All other duties assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required
  • Associate's degree is a plus (Metalluraly, Quality, Engineering or Technical)
• 5 years experience in a quality/ laboratory setting
  • Supervisory or managerial experience preferred
• Knowledgeable in all types of chemical and physical testing of steel preferred
• Strong background in QMS
• ISO standards
• Comfortable being on the floor, hands-on
