World-class Automotive supplier in the Metro Detroit, MI area is looking for a Production Supervisor. This is a Direct Hire Opportunity with full benefits!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for administering, directing, production activities
• Directs and supervises Team Members to ensure correct, accurate and timely completion of production and delivery schedules
• Ensure the employees under his supervision are trained on environmental issues such as spill control, proper storage and disposal wastes, chemical emergency
• Responsible for enhancing production quantity and high production standards
• Develop production schedule for the execution of projects in a timely manner
• Train new employees and coach existing employees
• Oversees the training and development of Team Members in both the sociological and technological aspects of their responsibilities.
• Responsible for providing recognition and positive reinforcement for all Team Members, in a manner to further develop each member of the team.
• Work as liaison between workers and management to create healthy employee relations
• Investigate and resolve Team Members performance issues assigned to the area
• Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Responsibilities
• Show workers how to work safely, and make sure they follow the law and workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
• Make sure workers wear and use the right personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ensure that the daily pre-use inspection checklist are completed (e.g. for production machines, cranes, forklifts, genie boom)
• Monitor workers on site during production activities to ensure adherence to ethics and safety procedures
• Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to designated shift
• Evaluate manufacturing equipment for safety and functionality
• Maintain a clean and safe work place
• Institutes and maintains safe work practices and capability of directing plant emergencies.
• Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Responsibilities will be a part of Supervisors performance evaluations.
• Supervisor must follow the Michigan Occupational Health & Safety Act (MIOHSA,), especially section
• Ensure that products and goods manufactured meet quality standards obtainable in the industry
• Check finished products to ensure quality, and that industry standards are met before they are declared ready for use
• Ensures strict compliance with Quality Control standards and promotes the Company’s reputation and image as a “Quality Producer”.
• Work with materials, quality and operations team to reconcile inventory, receiving, delivery, presentation and/or quality discrepancies.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum High School Education or equivalent with some college preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a production environment with evidence of increased responsibility a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a production team lead, preferably production supervisor
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems.
• Ability to work with others collaboratively.
• Strong organizational skills.
