Aegis Worldwide is Hiring a Quality Inspector Near Harwood, IL
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of machined and assembled components using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine).
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to verify product dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes.
- Perform first-article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections according to established inspection plans and procedures.
- Document inspection results, non-conformances, and corrective actions using quality records and ERP/MRP systems.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.).
- Assist in the calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance quality processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and customers regarding quality-related matters and participate in supplier quality audits as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in quality inspection preferred.
- Proven experience (X years) as a Quality Inspector in a machining and assembly manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and inspection procedures.
- Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment (CMM, height gauges, etc.).
- Knowledge of quality management systems and standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies and non-conformities.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload efficiently, and meet deadlines.
