As a Principal Developer, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the development and solution architecture of complex applications, ensuring high-quality code, and driving technical excellence across our team. This is a role where your deep understanding of open-source technologies, extensive experience with AWS, expertise in automation, and proficiency in ReactNative and AngularJS frameworks will truly support our business. You will also run and operate each capability through all lifecycle stages including production environments to ensure it operates within defined SLAs.
In addition to this you will:
  • Lead and drive the technical delivery for our technology strategy, making decisions that shape how we build and standardise our digital products
  • Provide the strategic way forward from an engineering perspective on all fronts from solution to implementation, including but not limited to solution, engineering, best practices, governance, security and data (APIs).
  • Lead and demonstrate the qualities you want to instil in your team of full stack developers, providing training and development, technical guidance, code reviews, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Drive the architect, design, and develop robust and scalable web applications using ReactNative, AngularJS, and other relevant technologies which will define our service.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
  • Extensive experience as a Lead Full Stack Developer, with a strong focus on web application development.
  • A solid understanding of front-end and back-end technologies, including ReactNative, AngularJS, Node.js, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related frameworks.
  • Strong development experience in the delivery of traditional code artefacts (Java/Python/SQL, etc…) and in addition IaC artefacts (Cloud Formation/Terraform/AWS CLI)
  • Deep expertise in AWS services and architecture, including EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB, amongst others.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices for scalable and maintainable code.
  • Experience in conducting workshops or meetings to gather business requirements and facilitate productive discussions between business and technical teams.
