JOB FUNCTIONS/ RESPONSIBILITIES

Drive and transport samples and personnel around the NY Metro Area. Vehicles shall be Ford F-150, F-250 and F-350 and similar. Make all pickups and deliveries as assigned; deliver packages to customers in a timely manner.

Must complete driver logs on a daily/ weekly basis. Keep up with the maintenance schedule of all company vehicles; Update monthly mileage records.

Provide routine updates during the day to your manager about your activities/ location so that work can be coordinated accordingly.

Provide daily phone calls to the department manager to inform of daily progress of the project.

Pick-up construction material samples and deliver to the laboratory, deliver equipment to site technicians.

Picking up office purchases or other administrative needs.

Utilize navigation apps to find the most optimal routes and proficiency using GPS devices; Extensive knowledge of the operating area.

Interact with clients in professional conduct; Maintain positive relationships with clients and inspectors

Maintain an organized travel schedule.

Ensure that vehicles have sufficient gas and are always ready for use.

Arrange for vehicle repairs when necessary; Carry out vehicle maintenance checks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: When hired as a driver/ warehouse helper at AEIS you will work on active construction sites and perhaps in a soils/concrete testing laboratory. You will get dirty and be exposed to outside weather conditions. Work shall also include Handyman/ Landscaping and other miscellaneous work around the laboratory such as coring concrete/ asphalt samples, assisting the construction material and machine shop personnel etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires long term standing and perhaps repetitive motions. You must have the ability to use your hands to handle, finger or feel; reach, climb or balance; crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit. You must have the ability to see and smell; including close, distance and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus. You may be required to drive hundreds of miles per day. Lifting -- You will regularly lift/move/shake up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 60-80 pounds; and occasionally move more than 100 pounds [such as a loaded wheelbarrow of concrete samples].

QUALIFICATIONS: 3 years of driving experience in similar vehicles, with at least 1 year experience driving in NYC. Basic math skills. Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate in English. Ability to read maps, follow directions.
