AEP Hawaii has been engaged to hire a top-performing Accounting Manager on Oahu to join a 300 MM retail business with a powerful brand.

This role will supervise the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, conducting financial analysis, managing physical inventories, and handling various projects.

Responsibilities & Background:

• B.B.A. degree in Accounting
• Public accounting experience and / or 5 years in accounting and management.
• Supervise a team of 5 accounting staff.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reports (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, P&L, etc.).
• Oversee monthly General Ledger closings, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Investigate and explain significant financial variances.
• Coordinate semi-annual physical inventories and store projections.
• Respond to report queries from stores and management.
• Perform financial analysis and forecasts for company performance, cash flows, store operations, and expenditures.
• Collaborate with store and department managers on financial matters and new procedures.
• Provide training to office and store personnel.
• Recruit, develop, and monitor staff, including performance evaluations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
