Job Description:
The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Lead, Senior-level Deputy Program Manager at our Missile Solutions Headquarters located in Huntsville, AL. This is an opportunity to support the THAAD Boost Motor Program. We are looking for a dynamic leader to drive program success. This position will help to lead an evolving development program, interface directly with customers, and ensure effective program execution. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team on a high profile program critical to the defense of our nation and our allies.
Essential Functions:
70% - Manage integrated product team (IPT) and lead team activities while interacting with the Director of Programs, Lead PM or Deputy Program Managers, functional managers, and customers to achieve program objectives (cost, schedule, quality) Candidate must be capable of working within an EVMS environment to control the project scope and team efforts (including occasional evening and weekend work)
10% - Lead planning and proposals of key elements of a Program under general direction of the Director of Programs and Business Development
5% - Prepare presentations and lead teams in presentations to peers, customers, and managers
5% - Travel to customers and suppliers to support program objectives
5% - Develop business case and oversee discretionary projects within the framework of the overall program
5% - Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant program management experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience in program management - In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience in program management
1 year of earned value management (EVM) experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
Master's degree in an appropriate discipline
Aerospace or defense development experience with solid or liquid propulsion
PMP certification or Project Management certificate
Knowledge of project management within the framework of the Project Management Institute including Project Planning, Project Control (Earned Value), Project Execution, Communication, Procurement, and Quality
Knowledge and application of Risk and Opportunity Management
Proficient in the use of all the basic MS Office tools and therefore be proficient in computer operating systems, MS Outlook, MS Excel (entering formulas, graphing, developing spreadsheets), MS PowerPoint (presentations, storyboard development, logic diagrams), MS Visio (business diagrams and sketches), and MS Word (tables, program plans)
Proficiency to also include setting up Integrated Master Schedules using knowledge of MS Project or similar scheduling tool to create extensive project files for large-size projects
