Position Summary:The Street Light Contract Coordinator is responsible for the continuous safe and efficient operations, construction, and maintenance of the AES Indiana electric Street Lighting and Area Protection Lighting systems. Provides supervision, leadership, technical advice and training to AES Indiana contractors and employees through day-to-day contact, safety audits and work performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvides direct supervision of contractors’ performance for maintenance and construction of overhead and underground street lighting. Provides direct supervision of contractors’ performance for maintenance and construction of overhead and underground area protective lighting (APL.) Administers contractor billing and performs quality control and compliance checks Confirm contractor compliance with company specifications. Coordinates with AES Indiana street and protective lighting contractors for target completion dates Review materials, identify project tasks, organize, plan, and monitor performance Continuously improves work processes to enhance on-the-job safety, quality of work, customer satisfaction, and encourages others to develop suggestions for work simplification. Prepares budget recommendations for ongoing work, complete monthly variance reports to maintenance budget targets. Assists in training of personnel. Provide support during system outage events Ensure street light and Automated Protective Lighting (APL) Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are met weekly, monthly, and annually Ensure personnel actively comply with all applicable safety policies, practices, and procedures.
Qualifications- High School graduate with additional vocational or technical training preferred
- 1-3 years of verifiable experience with contractor supervision and/or management preferred
- Prior experience in an electric utility preferred. This to include outside contractor involvement and construction projects
- Ability to work with people and have knowledge of industry practices relating to safe electric utility transmission and distribution system operations and the electric service restoration process
- Experience in budget preparation and budget review is preferred
- Preference will be shown to candidates with previous supervisory experience
Skills, Abilities:- Effective written and verbal communications skills
- Strong computer and Microsoft Excel skills are a must
- Team participation is essential
- Must be results oriented, self-motivated, and able to work with limited direct supervision
- Good problem solving and resource management skills
