As the Director, Wolverine Worx, you will be responsible for overseeing the cutting edge, fast paced special projects for Tactical Systems. This position has a full spectrum of responsibilities including technical, programmatic, personnel, facilities, etc. Your strategic leadership and industry expertise will guide the creation of impactful autonomous systems, which will drive the company's mission forward.

Essential Functions:

· Lead a multi-functional team in rapidly developing and delivering advanced technology and systems to meet the needs of the US DoD and other Government Agencies

· Establish relationships customers, existing and new, customers to understand their operational needs and the means to fulfill them.

· Directs and provides expert knowledge in the strategic function of the department.

· Develop Action Plans to accomplish AEVEX's organizational strategy.

· Leads with impact & influence. Establishes credibility, effectively persuades and develops others, and achieves important objectives collaboratively.

· Identifies, recruits, and retains top-notch talent.

· Champions AEVEX's culture and empowers employees to take responsibility.

· Sets performance standards and encourages employee engagement and results through delegation, continuous feedback, goal setting, and performance management.

· Drive the design and architecture of complex systems, encompassing sensors, computer vision, navigation, and control algorithms.

· Oversee the creation of sophisticated prototypes and coordinate rigorous testing to validate product performance, safety, and reliability.

· Lead the resolution of technical challenges to ensure successful testing and validation processes.

· Promote knowledge sharing across teams to facilitate collaboration and continuity.

· Provide technical guidance to address complex quality and compliance issues.

· Stay at the forefront of advancements in technology and industry trends.

· Drive the integration of emerging technologies to enhance product capabilities and performance.

· Ensure flexibility to meet needs outside of our current core business operations.

· React to rapid, often changing, customer requests.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Standard Essential Functions:

Qualifications:

· Proven track record in senior technical leadership roles, preferably within autonomous systems or related domains.

· Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a history of resolving complex technical challenges throughout product development.

· Experience in engineering methodologies, rapid prototyping, testing, and validation.

· Strong communication skills to effectively convey intricate technical concepts to diverse audiences.

· Detail-oriented mindset with an emphasis on delivering high-quality, innovative, and reliable products.

· Ability to foster innovation without fear.

· Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive technical discussions.

· Visionary thinking combined with a strategic mindset to shape the trajectory of the company's technical development.

· Project management skills and a history of managing projects within timelines and budgets.

Education / Certifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

· Master's degree preferred

Experience:

· 10 years of product development experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently required to sit, and to reach to use computers and other office equipment
  • Occasionally required to stand for extended periods of time

Security Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.
