Affinity Physician Services is Hiring a Medical Assistant/ Scheduling Specialist (Dual Role) Homewood Multi-Specialty Clinic Near Birmingham, AL

Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, measures vital signs and maintain patients' charts. May be required to draw, collect and prepare blood samples for laboratory analysis. Prepares treatment rooms. Maintains reasonable inventory of medical supplies. Processes prescriptions and communicates with pharmacies/ patients under the physician's directions. Handles referrals, making sure appropriate paperwork is completed. Handles patient calls and communication between patient and physician. Performs other clerical duties as may be necessary. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. Requires High School Diploma and CMA certification. BLS required. One to Three years experience in a related field preferred. Phlebotomy and Radiology experience preferred. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
