Affirm is Hiring a Quantitative Analyst Near Washington, DC

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.
We’re looking for a driven, analytically-minded professional to join the Quantitative Markets team! The Quantitative Markets team is responsible for structuring and pricing Affirm’s debt funding deals, developing platforms and tools for optimizing funding strategies, and building data-driven models to analyze and predict the performance of Affirm’s consumer loans.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in process automation and optimization as well as development and implementation of quantitative and/or machine learning models. Given the cross-functional nature of the role, the ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
What You’ll Do
  • Develop automation tools and optimize existing business processes to enable more efficient pricing and modeling of consumer debt financing deals as well as improve overall efficiency of the team
  • Advance Affirm’s asset-liability management model to help inform optimal funding strategies and forecast out the economics of our business
  • Build data-driven models to analyze and predict the performance of Affirm’s consumer loans
  • Partner cross-functionally with our Capital Markets, Treasury, Risk, Commercial, Product and Engineering teams to evaluate funding, product, and business decisions
What We Look For
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience in technical areas (e.g. data science, data analytics, quantitative finance).
  • Strong data-manipulation and model development and implementation skills using Python
  • Desire to understand the broader context of business decisions
  • Ability to think creatively and critically and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and often ambiguous work environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to collaborate and influence across different teams in the organization
  • Experience building quantitative models or implementing machine learning models is a plus
Base Pay Grade - I
Equity Grade - 5
Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.
Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)
USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $115,000 - $ 155,000
USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $102,000 - $ 142,000

Affirmers in proximal roles have the flexibility to work remotely, but will occasionally be required to work out of their assigned Affirm office. A limited number of roles remain office-based due to the nature of their job responsibilities.
