Affordable Housing Alliance is Hiring a RESIDENTIAL SERVICE COORDINATOR Near Eatontown, NJ

The Affordable Housing Alliance’s mission is to improve the quality of the life for all NJ residents by developing and preserving affordable housing, offering services to maintain housing affordability, providing housing education, and helping communities meet their legal and moral housing obligations.


The Residential Services Coordinator (RSC) plays a crucial role in supporting the well-being and enhancing the quality of life for our affordable housing residents. This position involves developing and coordinating various programs and services designed to foster a sense of community, promote resident engagement, and address the unique needs of our residents. The RSC is responsible for connecting with current clients and linking them to available community resources.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:

  • Implement a regular outreach strategy to engage AHA residents, track all progress using agency internal databases and provide bi-weekly update reports.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing non-clinical assessment of residents in AHA properties to assess their needs for program services and resources.
  • Assist residents to identify, access and coordinate needed services.
  • Assess eligibility for local, county and state programs designed to provide emergency assistance. Provide residents with applications to apply for the assistance if eligible and assist with applications as needed.
  • Develop and coordinate educational and preventative wellness programs for residents.
  • Develop and sustain partnerships with community-based agencies that can provide supportive services to residents.
  • Organize community events, social activities, and workshops that encourage resident involvement and provide educational resources to residents.
  • Develop and maintain an up-to-date resource directory with all local service providers for residents to use.
  • Work with the entire Property Management team to ensure coordination for all activities; Including regular review of delinquency report for an eviction prevention strategy.
  • Produce and distribute monthly residential services newsletter and continuously work to collect and update contact information for residents.
  • Assist with any other administrative duties as assigned and necessary to the functioning of the Property Management Department.


QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

  • Associates/Bachelor’s Degree and/or relevant working experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a similar role.
  • Possess strong computer skills – Word, Excel, Google Suite
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with residents, staff, and external partners.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skill.
  • Experience in the social service sector, preferably a direct service role.
  • Empathetic, patient, and culturally sensitive approach in working with a diverse resident population.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Possess strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
