Affordable Nursing and Sitter Services is Hiring a Personal Care Attendant (Pca) We Will Train You! Near Snellville, GA

Affordable Nursing and Sitter Services in Snellville, Georgia is looking for Patient Care Assistants (PCAs) to join the team. We are located at 2118 Main Street East Suite A Snellville GA 30040. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, and hard-working.

No experience, WE WILL TRAIN YOU! We provide a training program that provides the assistant with the skills required to perform personal care attendant services specified by the agency; You must cover the cost of your finger printing and drug test as well as complete a 40-hour training program provided by the private home care provider. You must complete twenty hours of the training program and pass the Georgia Personal Care Assisted Written Exam before you are allowed to service clients. An additional twenty hours must be completed within six months of your initial date of training.


PCA EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

    *Be 18 years of age or complete specified training for those who are sixteen or seventeen. *Have demonstrated ability to work with little direct supervision and make appropriate judgments. *Have demonstrated dependability, tact, and ability to follow orders. * Must Complete a Health Assessment: Have good physical and mental health, complete PPD or CXR for TB Screening *Have US Citizenship or evidence of alien work permit. * Cover the cost and complete Fingerprint Background Check: Disclose any conviction or criminal history records pertaining to any crime related to the provision of health services or the occupation of personal Care Attendant (no candidate who has been convicted of such crimes will be hired.) *Must not have jeopardized the health and welfare of vulnerable adults through physical abuse, sexual abuse, or neglect as defined by the state. * Cover the cost and complete Drug Screening: Must not misuse or show dependency on mood-altering chemicals, including alcohol *Must have completed one or more of the following:

*A nursing Assistant training program or its equivalent, for which Competency as a Nursing Assistant is determined according to a test administered by the State Board of Vocational Technical Education; or *A Homemaker-Home Health Aide training program using a curriculum recommended by the Department of Health; or *An accredited educational program for registered nurses or Licensed practical nurses; or *A training program that provided the assistant with skills required to perform personal care attendant services specified by the agency; or *Determination by the supervising RN that the attendant has the skills required, through training experience, to perform the personal care services specified under Covered Services in the Medical Assistance Manual.

    *Must have CPR/First Aide Training *Must have a reliable automobile; alternate transportation is the sole responsibility of the PCA.


PCA SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    *Bowel and bladder care. *Skin care, including prophylactic routine and palliative measures. *Range of motion exercises. *Respiratory assistance. *Transfers. *Bathing, grooming, and hair and washing are necessary for personal hygiene. *Turning and positioning. *Assist with medications (normally self-administered.) *Applications and maintenance of prosthetics and orthotics. *Cleaning Equipment. *Dressing and undressing. *Assistance with food, nutrition, and diet activities. *Accompanying clients to medical appointments to obtain medical diagnoses for treatment. *Provide services necessary to maintain the client’s personal health and safety. *Assist the client in completing daily living skills such as personal or oral hygiene. *Assist with incidental household services.


Physical & Environmental Demands

Heavy physical demands involve lifting clients, bending, stooping, and stretching. Must assess physical and emotional needs to be able to respond appropriately.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $12.00 - $20.00/hour.
