Afton Consulting Group is Hiring a Director of Business Development-Commercial Construction Near Beach, FL

As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Business Development to drive our commercial construction business forward.
What You Will DoAs the Director of Business Development - Commercial Construction, you will be responsible for driving business growth, expanding market presence, and developing strategic partnerships within the South Florida region. You will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders, and driving revenue growth for the company.
Key Responsibilities
  • In collaboration with the VP of Business Development, you will develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to achieve sales targets and revenue goals.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the commercial construction sector, including office buildings, retail centers, hospitality, healthcare facilities, and other commercial projects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and industry partners.
  • Lead the development and preparation of proposals, presentations, and bids in response to client requirements and RFPs.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to define and execute the company's growth strategy, including market expansion, product diversification, and geographic expansion.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to identify potential opportunities and threats.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to enhance brand visibility and foster business relationships.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the business development team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, market trends, and customer feedback to optimize business development initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, and uphold the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and professionalism in all business dealings.
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the commercial construction industry, with a proven track record of driving business growth and achieving sales targets.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed within South Florida and occasionally beyond
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of the commercial construction market in South Florida, including key players, market dynamics, trends, and opportunities.
  • Strong network of contacts within the commercial construction industry, including clients, architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and industry associations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate value propositions and build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with experience in leading and managing a high-performing business development team.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think analytically, anticipate market trends, and develop innovative business solutions.
  • Results-oriented approach with a strong focus on achieving measurable business outcomes and driving continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
