Position Description
Sensei Ag is hiring a Lead Farm Associate (assigned to Packaging) that will be responsible for coordinating, leading, facilitating and supporting all packaging activities at the farm. This role will ensure consistent fulfillment of orders, on-time and in-full, and 100% accuracy by coordinating and facilitating daily operations of the packing teams (lettuce and tomato.) This role will coordinate with the Operations Supervisor and/or Logistics personnel to ensure accurate record keeping of packing consumption and waste of raw goods.
Responsibilities
  • Assemble weekly and daily orders for efficient packaging operations.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency improvements to packaging processes.
  • Organize the process and layout of packaging operations for efficient use of space and personnel.
  • Ensure that packaging operations deliver top-quality products without damage to packaging materials and contents.
  • Ensures that all raw products and packaging materials used for order completions are documented for inventory tracking.
  • Ensures that cold storage rooms and equipment are cleaned and sanitized according to Sensei Ag standards.
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation of key metrics, consumption targets, and results.
  • Demonstrate an uncompromising commitment to food safety procedures and protocol, including the completion of all required documentation for food safety compliance.
  • Report all incidents/accidents promptly to HR and/or the Operations Supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance with established company standards and procedures in the packaging operations.
  • Other duties as assigned and as required to maintain continuity of operations.
Minimum years of experience required
  • One (1) year experience in inventory, preferably in a warehouse environment.
Required Skills, Abilities and Qualifications
  • Strong emphasis on attention to detail and critical thinking.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights (e.g.: on a ladder)
  • Must be able to work in an environment exposed to extreme conditions, such as within a refrigerated cooler.
  • Ability to handle a high-stress environment with multiple demands and tight timelines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on attention to detail and critical thinking.
Preferred Skills, Abilities and Qualifications
  • Knowledge or experience with food safety, recall tracking, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) techniques, and food handling practices that minimize contamination and preserve product condition.
  • Effective at collaborating with various teams; excellent interpersonal and communication skills and positive attitude.
  • Holds and maintains a valid Class C driver's license issued by the State of Hawaii.
