Description of Work
The program associate will serve as the outreach leader for the Haskell Agricultural Laboratory. Position will work closely with leadership to identify audiences, shape messages, and consult on communication tactics. The position will also collaborate with extension educators in both Urban Agriculture and Animal Manure Management programs to develop outreach efforts.
As the Program Associate- Haskell Ag Lab, you will:
  • Coordinate community events, statewide training opportunities and create educational materials.
  • Maintain newsletters, mailing lists, websites, and social media platforms.
  • Develop communication tools, such as flyers, podcasts, articles and videos.
  • Assist with securing funding from public, private, and non-profit organizations to further the work of the program(s).
  • Identify and assess key performance indicators, identify evaluation methods, and long-term planning to match mission/goals.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree plus two experience in program coordination. Additional years of education or experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience implementing and delivering educational programming, marketing, communications, and event planning.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
  • Experience in working with the agricultural community.
  • Experience demonstrating strong organizational skills to manage various aspects of the program to include coordination of promotional events, fundraising activities, and public reactions.
  • Experience demonstrating strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems & Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365.
