Job Description
(Multiple Positions)
The Program Aide, under general supervision, will provide supervision and oversight of 60-75 incoming high school students for the Ag Discovery, Research Extension Apprentice Program, and 25-30 incoming Freshman for the CAHS Summer Jumpstart Program.
The Program Aide will be hired over the course of these three programs to help students to become acquainted with our university and college programs. The selected candidates must be available on weekends to perform the duties of this position.
Housing and meals are provided throughout the programs.
Responsibilities:

• Assist the CAHS Program Coordinator with ensuring the Bridge student success and completion of post-secondary admission requirements (housing, financial aid, etc.)
• Provide continuous academic support, help teach self-advocacy skills and help students understand post-secondary requirements; Act as a liaison with the PVAMU Faculty providing college instruction
• Promote the educational aspirations and performance of Bridge students by modeling excellent college-going attitudes, habits, and skills
• Collaborate with assistant deans on planning and implementing student services programs for the 2023-2024 academic year; attend meetings and events related to assignments
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Required Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma/GED
• No prior experience required.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented and utilizes sound judgement
• Some experience working with programs.

Responsibilities:

• Supervising students with activities during the week and on weekends.
• Assisting students with Housing and Medical issues.
• Supervising students during study hall periods.
• Taking students to meals and directing students to classes.
• Accompanying students on field trips
• Perform other duties as assigned.
