Manufacturing NextGen Ag?Engineering Manager ,?you will have the opportunity to:? Lead a fast growing, multi-discipline Manufacturing NextGen Ag team of engineers and technicians to produce deliverables on diverse and challenging food production, agribusiness, and industrial manufacturing facilities projects of low to medium complexity Manage project execution of engineering design, material, equipment, and construction specification development for various food, beverage, industrial manufacturing and agriculture facilities projects. The assignments are varied and will include engineering, construction support, and Engineer Procure & Construct (EPC) projects. Check it out Key Responsibilities General Responsibilities: Proactively provides guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies. Assists in developing, maintaining and updating engineering standards. Provides technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines. Independently applies knowledge and ensures compliance with B&V quality program. Establishes related processes, and promotes a culture that is conducive to quality. Provides guidance and direction to others. Supports continuous improvement and change management efforts. Project Execution: Lead teams of engineers/technicians to drive completion of engineering deliverables in support of a diverse client base focused around traditional and novel food production, agribusiness and industrial manufacturing facilities. The assignments are varied and will include engineering studies, detailed design, and design-build projects. Develops and Manages budget, schedule, and quality requirements across multiple disciplines for assigned projects. Reviews lower level engineering work or assignments. Responsible for coordinating multiple discipline activity and serving as the responsible charge for assigned projects. Responsible for assisting with identification of key client interests and drivers on projects. Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work. Provides support to business development or pursuit activities. The position will entail occasional travel to support field assignments, and meetings with clients and other organizations. Actively manages project changes directly with the Client in coordination with the Project Manager. Consistently and independently applies knowledge and complies with Black and Veatch quality program relative to assigned tasks Provides guidance and direction to assigned direct reports Assists with the performance management process and mentoring Technical Expertise: Actively advances knowledge management of the enterprise and provides mentoring. As a subject matter expert, has additional expertise in a technical area, participates in professional societies by presenting papers, participates on technical committees, and assists with code/standard authoring. Is externally recognized in industry as an expert which enhances the Company brand. Operations/Management: Typically oversees performance management, career planning, recognition, learning and development, and corrective actions Administrative responsibilities may include office administration. Ensures policies, procedures, and processes are effectively implemented and communicated for workgroup. Ensures adherence to corporate and division programs. May approve timesheets and expense reports. Preferred Qualifications Engineering and Design Management experience, with specific experience in sanitary production facilities, novel production processes and industrial manufacturing? Experience in managing design interaction between engineering disciplines, including facility design and process design? Strong understanding of layout optimization and major equipment requirements? Excellent communication skills and interest in engaging with Clients to grow relationships Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles, and selection of applicable design guides and standards Advanced ability to interpret engineering deliverable content? Past field experience participating in the construction and/or commissioning of a similar facility ? Working knowledge of development of testing and commissioning plans and procedures. ? P.E License preferred.? Minimum Qualifications Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
