Lead Inspector - Ag World Support Systems

FUNCTION

Assist supervisor in daily operations. Assume responsibility and oversee operation in supervisor’s absence.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Assist facility manager with managing sampling, inspections, and other services provided by AWSS.
• Maintain a positive attitude with co-workers, peers, management staff, and customers.
• Maintain necessary communication between the facility manager, team members, and customers.
• Understand and ensure compliance of all AWSS and customer safety regulations..
• May be directly assigned to implement and oversee QA program.
• Train inspectors to the grade criteria and the RFIs and ensure that inspection standards are consistently met.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Manage or assist facility manager with task and shift scheduling, as well as payroll.
• Perform data entry and other assigned computer tasks as necessary.
• Administer and support AWSS and customer safety regulations.
• Stay on duty until relieved or as directed by the facility manager.
• Appropriate AWSS personnel may assign other accountabilities as necessary.
• Understand and administer RFI criteria.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School or equivalent education is preferred.
• Analytical skills with the ability to calculate averages and percentages.
• Knowledge of potato inspection process is preferred.
• Communicate effectively in English.
• Follow written and oral instructions.
• Basic computer skills is preferred.

REQUIREMENTS

• Lift up to 35 pounds properly.
• Work in an outside environment in varied conditions.
• Stand for long periods of time and be mobile.
• Differentiate color. (Not color blind)
• Work around noise, dirt, odors, dust, chemicals, fumes, and in poorly ventilated areas.
• Work around potential mechanical hazards such as machinery, conveyor belts, chains, and forklifts.
• Work around icy, slippery, muddy, uneven flooring and surfaces.
• May operate forklifts and/or skid steers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
