We are looking to expand our team with an Interior Design Intern! You will work with our designers to assist with projects related to our services. The Interior Design Intern will not only be working in the design world but also getting experience in a creative environment helping us develop the studio, and collaborate with us on bringing our existing projects to life. The Interior Design Intern will have the opportunity to work under the studio’s designers and get hands-on entrepreneurship mentorship and experience in a dynamic and growing company.

This is a hybrid position and the candidate must be able to regularly drive to various locations throughout Orange County. This position has a possibility of temp to permanent hire, which will be evaluated following three months. We are looking for a candidate who will be able to start as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Help create project client presentations.
• Help create floor plans and elevations.
• Assist with organizing an extensive materials library, including processing and filing new samples/catalogs that come in, or returning samples to vendors.
• Requesting information from vendors or fabricators – pricing, lead time, color/size/finish options, availability, etc.
• Purchasing inventory based on designer selection.
• Aid with organizing and maintaining furniture and decor inventory.
• Assist with responding to email inquiries.
• Support project teams in tasks and duties related to active projects.
• Attend construction meetings and field visits for detailing and coordination understanding.
• Work under close supervision and receive instruction and mentoring regarding tasks.
• Complete ad hoc projects to support the team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to travel locally or out of state as needed.
• Ability to lift and mobilize small to medium items, up to 30 lbs, while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Ability to go up and down stairs and maneuver effectively around job sites, warehouses, and offices.
• Position may entail prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending, and climbing.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate is a Junior, Senior, or recent graduate of a design school looking to gain practical work experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record.
• A strong artistic eye and love for design
• Proficient in AutoCad
• Proficient in Sketchup
• Curious and open-minded to learn
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Demonstrates an adaptable, collaborative, and positive attitude
• Photography experience is a plus

Benefits

• The anticipated compensation rate for this full-time internship is $16/hour
• Expected Hours: 40 hours per week (8-hour shift)
