All duties related to this position are for the U.S. and Canadian business units. Maintains payroll-related accounts and is responsible for the reconciliation and accuracy of one or more accounts within a complex accounting system. Lead the month end close for General Accounting ensuring deadlines met. Researches and advises payroll staff concerning the accounting treatment of complex transactions. May perform periodic internal audits of various payroll areas and prepare materials for external or internal auditors. The position will be responsible for support of General Accounting, providing analysis upon request. Maintains automated general ledger systems. Position will lead programming and maintenance of the automated general ledger systems as well as processing of small US and Canadian payrolls. Verifies and prepares Quarterly and Year-end tax information for Payroll Manager Review. Various other duties as assigned by Payroll Manager.
Primary responsibility is payroll accounting and HRIS reporting.
Payroll Accounting: 50%
Payroll Processing:30%
System Maintenance/Administration: 15%
Other Tasks as assigned: 5%
