Agendi is Hiring a Human Resources Manager Near New York, NY

Agendi is an innovative, fast-growing climate sustainability consultancy with offices in London, New York, San Francisco, Montreal and Brussels. Our team is made up of energetic multi-disciplinary specialists (team of ~40). We develop and implement sustainability solutions tailored to our clients’ needs, serving global private and public companies, across all sectors. We deliver a full-service consultancy including ambition assessments and strategy planning, greenhouse gas inventories, climate risk and opportunity analysis.

We are seeking a dynamic HR Manager to join our consulting firm and play a pivotal role in shaping our organization's culture, talent development, and overall strategic direction. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of HR experience, with a proven track record of success in areas such as culture integration, talent development, performance management, and organizational structure optimization.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with the ability to take initiative, establish and drive HR initiatives across regions in partnership with the leadership team. They should demonstrate a high level of integrity, autonomy and resourcefulness in navigating the complexities of establishing HR processes and programs within a growing international organization.

Main tasks & responsibilities

  • Culture integration & DEI: Lead efforts to integrate and reinforce our core values across all aspects of the organization, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. Develop and implement DEI initiatives and policies, as well track and report on diversity metrics, to promote a culture where all employees feel valued and respected.
  • Employee engagement: Implement initiatives to measure and improve employee engagement levels, such as surveys, feedback mechanisms, and recognition programs
  • Employee relations: Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to employees and management, providing guidance and support on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions
  • Workforce planning: Ensure that the organization has the right talent in place to achieve its business objectives. This includes forecasting future talent needs, identifying skill gaps, and developing strategies to address them
  • Hiring & recruiting: Manage the recruitment and selection process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring qualified candidates. Oversee employee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a smooth transition for new hires
  • Talent development & training: Design and implement initiatives to enhance skills, knowledge and professional development amongst the consulting team
  • Performance development: Manage & improve performance management processes to drive accountability, recognize achievements, and facilitate continuous improvement. Administer compensation and benefits programs, including salary benchmarking, bonus plans, and employee benefits, to attract and retain top talent.
  • HR policies and procedures: Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures that align with local labor laws, legal requirements and industry standards, ensuring compliance, consistency and fairness across the organization.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Location: East Coast (exact location flexible)
  • 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, with demonstrated expertise in culture integration, talent development, and organizational effectiveness
  • Experience with HR in a consulting environment strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, local employment laws, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong project management skills
  • Advocate for a diverse and equitable culture, policies, processes and programs, with a very detail-oriented yet flexible approach to problem-solving
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think creatively and proactively, translating business objectives into actionable HR initiatives
  • Track record of driving change and delivering results in a fast-paced growth environment
  • Well-versed in coaching methodologies to empower employees, foster professional growth, resolve conflicts, and drive positive change
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with international teams and influence stakeholders at all levels

The salary range for this position is $80,000-$110,000. We note the salary information as a general guideline only, as actual compensation may vary from posting.
