Agensys Corporation is Hiring a Contracts Specialist Near Gainesville, VA

Job Title: Contract Specialist

We are seeking an energetic, organized, and motivated Contract Specialist to join our team. The position will work most closely with the team in our Gainesville, Virginia office but may be eligible to be fully remote. Primary duties will include contract preparation and review, as well as managing insurance requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with internal project managers in WSSI and other divisions of our parent company (Davey Resource Group, DRG) to facilitate the contracting process but will also serve as a liaison for clients’ contracting representatives.

Duties:

  • Review contracts for accuracy and compliance with company guidelines; resolve discrepancies
  • Assess contractual risks and their resultant impacts to the company
  • Liaise between WSSI/DRG and clients/consultants regarding contract development, including negotiations regarding terms and conditions
  • Recognize patterns and red flags, e.g., standard versus non-standard contractual requirements
  • Communicate contract processes, conditions, and details with management and employees
  • Manage certificates of insurance (COIs) and serve as main WSSI/DRG point of contact with insurance company representatives

Required:

  • Demonstrate ability to identify problems and implement corrective action
  • Demonstrate ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with high attention to detail
  • Strategic thinker capable of implementing risk mitigation policies and procedures while supporting the company’s growth goals and existing customer relationships
  • Basic understanding of commercial property and casualty insurance concepts
  • Basic understanding of high deductible and self-insurance programs
  • Familiarity with certificates of insurance and related terminology
  • Ability to mediate and resolve client concerns
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • 3 years of experience in contract review, including indemnification and insurance requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

Preferred

  • Risk management and/or insurance designation (ARM, CPCU, or similar)
  • Experience working with environmental consulting and/or engineering firms
  • Experience working with a diverse client base in both public and private sectors
