Overview of the Role:

The Business Development Specialist is part of a small but mighty Business Development and Strategic Partnerships team that drives sustainable financial growth in our organization through building strong relationships with new and existing partners. Identifying grant opportunities and creating persuasive grant proposals is key to our business strategy and conceptualizing, planning and implementing successful campaigns and events is core to our sustainability. Our Business Development team owns their relationships and strategizes to identify the right opportunities for continuing to reach our long term goals.

  • Partner with leaders at AgeOptions to execute a comprehensive development strategy to meet revenue goals.
  • Source and develop grant proposals, letters of inquiry and other marketing proposals to reach current and potential funding sources.
  • Use proven philanthropic experience to assist AgeOptions to expand impact to the community and our partner providers.
  • Be a driver of our annual events, fundraiser and campaigns

What are the Specifics (or at least some of them):

  • Identify opportunities for new business that promtotes the AgeOptions brand, programs and services.
  • Create persuasive grant, sales, and corporate proposals to engage foundations and corporations in collaborating with and supporting AgeOptions.
  • Coordinate and be responsible for campaigns and corporate presentations- research opportunities in advance, prepare materials including speaking points and slide decks.
  • Involvement with all AgeOptions branded development events, campaigns and programs.
  • Support AgeOptions Marketing and Communication efforts
Required Experience:


Who we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred
  • At least 3 years experience in business development (preferably in a not for profit environment)
  • At least 3 years experience and involvement in the grant process. Creating and Writing persuasive grant, sales and corporate proposals
  • Experience in event planning and management
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
