We are seeking freelance senior-level trusts & estates paralegals for our Virtual Paralegal Service team. This is a part-time, 1099 contract position. Experience in California, Nevada, or Arizona is preferred. The role involves assisting our nationwide attorney client base with Trusts & Estates planning activities and estate probate matters. Pay rate: $30 - $45/hr Responsibilities and Duties
Assist with initial drafting of estate planning documents
Interview clients and gather information to prepare wills and trust documents
Prepare trust administration documents, such as trust certifications, allocation of assets, and all documents related to asset transfers to beneficiaries
Prepare petitions for probate, trust-related documents, pleadings, and declarations
Prepare beneficiary and creditor notifications
Prepare asset inventories and estate counting
Assist with trust accounting and funding
Assist in the preparation of federal estate and gift tax returns
Manage probate dockets
Recording deeds with accompanying transfer documents
Organize/index documents
Direct communication with clients and client advisors
Comply with and understand company operations, policies, and procedures
Keep confidentiality of client and client's client matters
Perform other related duties as assigned
Skills
Solid computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite
Competent with Adobe Acrobat Pro
Able to work in a collaborative teamwork environment and able to share information with appropriate parties on a need-to-know basis
Strong project management skills
Strong customer service and client relationship management skills
Able to motivate and work effectively with highly skilled talent
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
Experience
Ten years of specialized experience in trusts & estates (California, Nevada, and Arizona experience preferred)
Experience with one or more software platforms
Trust administration experience preferred
Probate experience preferred
