Responsibilities
- Knowledge of banking or finance within the scope of a technical writer
- Collaborate with SMEs to develop documentation for product features, fixes, and changes
- Collaborate with other members of the Documentation team to develop and maintain appropriate and consistent style and messaging standards across all documentation resources
- Designs, develops, and maintains policy and procedural manual(s)
- Write documentation required to support operational policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain detailed databases of appropriate reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specifications
- Reads, writes, compiles, and updates technical documents, including descriptions, policies, processes, procedures, presentations, and learning solutions
- Evaluate current content and develop innovative approaches for improvement
- Attending meetings and/or interviewing subject matter experts engaged in mortgage servicing operations to develop technical documents required
- Bachelor's degree preferred, High School (diploma) or GED required
- 2 years of experience as a Technical Writer required
- At least 1 year of working in the banking or financial industries strongly preferred
- Strong technical writing skills (clear, concise, and complete manner)
- Strong grammar skills (grammar, punctuation, spelling, usage)
- Strong oral communication skills
- Willing to take initiative to develop systems expertise
- Good teamwork qualities
- Contract project
- Pay is based on experience
- Must live in Austin, TX or willing to commute in a few times a month
- Must pass a background and drug screening
