Responsibilities
- Primary responsibilities include, drafting, editing, and formatting moderately complex technical documentation, ensure procedure documents align with the project guidelines and internal standards
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Produce and/or edit highly technical documentation
- Develop training materials and facilitate knowledge transfer sessions as needed
- Designs, develops, and maintains policy and procedural manual(s)
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization
- Provide clear directions for handling real life compliance issues
- Analyze, interpret, and translate technical requirements to write and edit technical and user content in a clear and concise user-friendly style
- Ensures assigned projects and tasks remain on schedule
- May oversee the efforts of less junior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job
- Utilize best practices
- Bachelor's degree preferred, High School (diploma) or GED required
- 5 years of Technical Writing experience required, specifically in production of new technical documentation
- At least 2 years of compliance-specific experience preferred
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize projects
- Must have experience leading a team of junior Technical Writers with strong coaching abilities
- Must possess a strong attention-to-detail
- Must be able to answer questions at a SME level
- Contract project
- Pay based on experience
- Must be located in Austin, TX or willing to commute a few times a month
- Must pass a background and drug screening
