Position Overview: As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department in various accounting and financial tasks. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions to maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain schedules for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accruals.
• Support the Senior Accountant in budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with financial audits by providing necessary documentation and support.
• Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the wine industry or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial analysis.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with regulatory requirements for wineries is a plus.
