The impact you will make: 

Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Executive Assistant to join our team. We want someone who cares about this important work, and who’s driven to connect to our mission of helping these patient communities. The Executive Assistant will be responsible for supporting our Chief Executive Officer and Chief People Officer. The Executive Assistant will independently handle a wide range of administrative and executive support-related tasks. The desired candidate is well-organized, flexible and enjoys the dynamic challenges of supporting an office of diverse people and changing priorities.

What you will do: 

  • Heavy calendar management, requiring interaction with a variety of different parties, to coordinate a variety of internal and external meetings including heavy coordination and management of team meetings. 
  • Plan and oversee planning and logistical arrangements for Board of Directors meetings, including materials distribution, travel and facility needs, meals and refreshments, supplies and technology.
  • Coordinate events, catering, and additional meeting logistics for CEO, CPO and leadership team
  • Administrative responsibilities for CEO and HR team purchase orders and contracts
  • Arrange travel plans including air, hotel, ground transportation and meal reservations. 
  • Prepare expense reports and related documentation.
  • Actively collaborate with other executive assistants. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you bring: 

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in previous C-suite support role.
  • Proven ability to work with a high level of integrity, confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience managing Board of Directors meetings highly preferred.
  • Experience working within the biotech/pharmaceuticals industry highly preferred.
  • The ability to interact with colleagues in a fast-paced environment, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient; with a high level of professionalism 
  • Self-motivated with the ability to act independently, with urgency, persistence, and passion. 
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively maintain a high level of productivity, innovation, and priority-setting to complete assignments on-time. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for effectively and actively interfacing with all departments within the company. 
  • Ability to make thoughtful, timely and meaningful decisions and take corresponding actions. 
  • Entrepreneurial, enjoys working in a fast-paced, small-company environment. 
  • Flexibility in handling workflow in a multi-tasking environment 
  • Ability to work under pressure, meeting time sensitive deadlines. 
  • Ability to integrate planning efforts across departments to ensure organizational effectiveness. 
  • Strong MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills

Work Location:

Location Specific – Hybrid: This role requires some work onsite at our Cambridge Headquarters as needed. Hybrid schedules vary but are generally less than 3 days per week onsite. Regular conversations with manager are encouraged to ensure alignment on in-person presence/expectations. Employees in this role are expected to live within a commutable distance to the office and some travel may be required commensurate to the above job description and/or to attend team meetings and other company events.
