Job Role: Senior Software Engineer - OCR and EDI Specialist

Location: Hybrid(Near Alpharetta, GA, SF Bay Area/Oakland or Sacramento, CA)
Duration: 7 Months contract(Ability to perm conversion)
Job Description:

Client is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Senior Software Engineer specializing in Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and 834 EDI file format and processing. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, extensive experience in developing high-performing, secure applications, and the ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Application Development: Design and develop high-performing and secure applications with a focus on OCR technology. Utilize tools such as FIS FormWorks, Mavro, OPEX, and impira.
• OCR Expertise: Configure OCR editors and provide batch support to ensure efficient data extraction and processing.
• EDI File Processing: Expertise in 834 EDI file format, ensuring seamless integration and processing.
• Innovation Leadership: Spearhead the development of innovative approaches to detect, respond to, and eradicate tech debt, anti-patterns, and advanced threats.
• Research and Application: Apply innovative methodologies, latest industry trends, and design patterns to enhance software reliability, scalability, and operational ease.
• Problem Solving: Recognize underlying problems, opportunities, or political forces affecting the organization and develop strategic solutions.
• Knowledge Sharing: Serve as a subject matter expert, sharing expertise and insights with other engineers and stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Identify significant internal and external stakeholders, build partnerships, and influence strategic decisions.
• Mentorship: Mentor and champion cultural and process changes within the team and organization.
• Agile Development: Apply knowledge of agile development methodologies to ensure efficient and effective project execution.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical education and experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in designing and developing high-performing and secure applications.
• Extensive experience with OCR technologies such as FIS FormWorks, Mavro, OPEX, impira, etc.
• Expertise in configuring OCR editors and providing batch support.
• In-depth knowledge of 834 EDI file format and processing.
• Ability to research and apply innovative methodologies, industry trends, and design patterns.
• Proven ability to recognize and address underlying problems and opportunities within an organization.
• Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and influence strategic decisions.
• Recognized as an authority in their area of expertise by peers and leaders.
• Ability to evaluate and generate options for software reliability, scalability, and operational ease.
