Exceptionally well-managed and highly respected family farm in southeastern Iowa is looking for a trustworthy Assistant Farm Manager who has the capability to run the farm long-term.

Responsibilities include:

• perform and oversee day-to-day activities on the farm, primarily on the grain side of the business.
• spend 90% of your time on all aspects of raising, harvesting and shipping corn and soybeans.
• 10% or less of your time will be on the hog side. At a minimum, you will be overseeing the staff at the hog barns.
• carry out all levels of farm duties and follow the proven procedures and protocols of the farm.

Skills you'll need to be successful:

• must be a trustworthy natural leader, a team player who can lead, motivate, and work together as a team.
• excellent communicator, transparent and honest
• enjoy all aspects of corn and soybean production from planting to harvest.
• willing to assist with and oversee shop work.
• work well with others, be self-starting, and hard working
• being teachable is key; this leader must respect the established high standards and procedures this farm already has and desire to build and improve upon them.
• have or be capable of getting a CDL;
• be mechanical with the ability to troubleshoot issues;
• You must also understand and assist with spraying, grain drying, and grain storage and have an all-around knack for getting things done on the farm.
