QualificationsThis position requires a Ph.D in statistics/mathematics or a related field of study that has equipped the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Preferred interests and experience include hierarchical spatial modeling, machine learning, Bayesian methodology and computation, dimension reduction and analysis of high-dimensional datasets, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience working with large datasets for applied science outcomes is preferred.
Mathematical Statistics Series 1529Individual Occupational RequirementsBasic Requirements:
  • Degree: that included 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, of which at least 12 semester hours were in mathematics and 6 semester hours were in statistics.
or
  • Combination of education and experience -- at least 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, including at least 12 hours in mathematics and 6 hours in statistics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
Applicants must meet basic Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standard's requirements of the scientific discipline necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
