PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Toolmaker/Mechanical Assembly Technician will play a pivotal role in the design, fabrication, and assembly of precision tools and machinery, contributing to the development of cutting-edge solutions for our clients.

Project Leadership
- Lead and manage a team of toolmakers in the development of custom automation equipment and special machines.
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from concept and design to fabrication, assembly, and testing.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to translate customer requirements into detailed design specifications.
- Utilize CAD software and other tools to create precise drawings and models for custom automation equipment.
- Take a hands-on approach to toolmaking, contributing to the fabrication and assembly of precision components and machinery.
- Ensure that tools and machines meet high standards of quality, precision, and efficiency.
- Implement and enforce quality control processes to guarantee the reliability and performance of custom automation equipment.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of tools and machines before deployment.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and potential challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance toolmaking processes, efficiency, and overall product quality.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to incorporate into the design and fabrication process.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate degree, technical degree, or training and experience in tool and die.
- Proven experience in a lead or supervisory role in toolmaking and custom automation.
- Understanding of/experience using CAD software for design and modeling.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, materials, and tool fabrication.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Eight to ten years in a job shop environment.
- Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics.
- May be subject to higher noise levels from operating machines.
- Standard physical hazards from moving equipment & machine parts.
- Standard industrial and manufacturing working conditions.
- Some travel to customers' facilities for installations and service.
